Over the weekend, I happened to be laying on the couch watching old Bond movies when I should have been cleaning the swimming pool. I came across ‘For Your Eyes Only’, and found just about the best motorcycle chase scene I’ve ever seen! Bond (Roger Moore), on skis, is trying to escape from assassins at a European ski area. This includes being chased down a bobsled run by dual bad guys on Yamaha XT dual sports with studded snow tires. There is also another ski based bad guy with a rifle. Make sure you see the end, where he’s pissed off and picks up and throws the wrecked motorcycle (along with his rifle) at the escaping Bond. Pretty rad huh!? Got any other cool motorcycle chase scenes I might’ve missed?
The Voltage Regulator is an important component of the electrical charging system, and keeps your motorcycle battery from being overcharged and damaged. This section has information on common regulator types and troubleshooting information. There are a few common types of Voltage Regulators used on most motorcycles. The most common is a single or three phase regulator for permanent magnet charging systems. This type is used on the majority of modern street motorcycles.
Happen to buy a dirtbike with an old Electrosport Dual Sport kit installed? Still own a bike with Dakar it on it? Trying to figure out why the hell there is a circuit board installed your headlight!? Alot of people were left stranded when Electrosport Industries went out of business in 2010, and there was no info or support on fixing these dual sport kits. While they are still around they no longer build or support Dual Sport kits, so I’m hosting here all of the PDF fitting instructions for various Dakar and other dual sport kits, I hope these can help you keep your old bike’s lighting working for awhile longer!
Here is an older RaceTech Electric video showing how to install a charging rotor on a Yamaha XS650 (applies to any year):
